Ragdolls are very pretty cats with big blue eyes and are very laid back in temperament, they are a large muscular semi long-haired breed with neutered males weighing up to 20lbs and neutered females weighing 10-15lbs.
As the name suggests they are floppy and relax completely when held, they love nothing more than to have lots of cuddles and human contact and will follow you around the house from room to room.
The Ragdoll has a very soft, silky coat which has often been compared to rabbits fur, it is full at the ruff and knickerbockers, because of its texture they require only a little grooming, once or twice a week is usually enough, although grooming is a good way to bond with your Ragdoll.
one thing that makes the Ragdoll such an amazing breed is the fact that the tiny thirteen week old baby kitten you take home will turn from a pretty fluffy bundle of inquisitive fun to a stunning adult changing from month to month and year to year until reaching complete maturity at 3-4 years old, it really is amazing to watch their colour developing as they grow.
Ragdolls come in a variety of colours and patterns, the universally accepted colours are seal, blue, lilac, chocolate, and the newly introduced red and cream in solid points, tabby points, tortie points and tortie tabby point, with patterns to include colour pointed, mitted and bicolour,
Ragdolls are a very trusting breed and make easy targets for being stolen and so are strictly indoor cats, although this suits them perfectly due to their laid back nature.
They can also be easily voice trained and once they learn their name will come when called, and you will almost certainly be greeted at the door when you get home with some loud purring!!!
